Driving Around Iceland - Day 1 - Reykjavík to Skaftafell

Dashcam footage from my 12 day trip to Iceland in July 2014.
Some key points in the video:

00:20 - Leaving Reykjavík
16:55 - DC-3 Wreck
18:17 - Dyrhólaey in atrocious weather
22:00 - Vík
24:30 - Approaching Skaftafell
25:25 - Skaftafell

The footage is sped up 5x. The car was a Land Rover Defender.
NOTE: This video is missing a large chunk of the trip between Reykjavík and Skaftafell (roughly half the distance). As you can see, the weather was awful and the visibility very limited. I turned the camera back on as soon as the weather cleared up, which was unfortunately already very close to Skaftafell. All in all it was a very wet first day (setting up the tent was a nightmare), but luckily the weather improved over the next days.

While in Iceland I also used my DSLR camera to capture some of the beautiful and exotic landscapes. I edited the footage into a short landscape film called "Exploring Iceland", which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/Llwp88oh1Jk

I would definitely recommend visiting Iceland at some point in your lifetime. It's one of the most beautiful and unusual places on the planet, and you will never regret it.
