Join me for a day in Stavanger, which is the third largest city in Norway, also known as the "The Oil Capital of Norway”.
We took a bus to go see the swords ( Sverd i fjell ). This has been by dream for years and I was super exited to finally see them. If you would like to do it yourself ( without booking an excursion ) just take bus 16 from the left side of the lake end exit at Madlaleiren stop. After that it's just a short stroll true a park to get to the swords. A return bus ticket costed us around £5 each.
After getting back to the city we visited the old town (and the new town) of Stavanger. The city has some very picturesque buildings. We walked true Geoparken ( an park made out of old oil drilling machine parts ) , next to the Petroleum Museum. We also decided to stop for some ice-cream as it was really hot!
We didn't take an excursion in this port and we really enjoyed Stavanger. Most of the main attractions are walking distance from the ship. The only excursion you might want to book are the pulpit rocks, we decided to have day in the city instead.
