Planning a Trip to Iceland? Here are important tips you need to know before you travel. I wish I knew these before my trip!

1. Visa : Schengen Visa. It takes time for processing so plan and apply in advance.
2. Rent a car. No public transportation
3. Download local apps for local weather and road conditions
4. Best time to visit: October to March ( Northen light and winter) May- August ( Summer and 24 hours day!)
5. Food : buy your groceries from Reykjavik, food is very expensive
6. Hotel: book well in advance as there are limited hotels and it can get very expensive
7. Clothes: don’t be fool by word summer if you are going in summer. It’s still cold and windy so pack enough winter clothes.
8: pack hiking shoes and swimming clothes for lagoons
