Hi Everyone!

Welcome back to all those who are returning and welcome to all those who are new~

From April 25, 2023-May 5, 2023, I went to Europe with my mom! It was very spontaneous. I booked everything about a week before on April 12th. We hit 3 countries: France, Switzerland & Italy. My mom has only been to England & Iceland so she really wanted to go back and experience more.

Excluding travel days to and from Europe, we spent 2 days in France (Paris & Palace of Versailles), 3 days in Switzerland (1 day Zurich, 1 day Interlaken, 1 day Jungfrau), 4 days in Italy (1 day Lake Como, 1 Day Milan, 2 days Venice).

April 28, 2023: When we woke up, we had arrived in Zurich! The bus ride wasn't bad at all! I felt pretty rested after sleeping. The bus stop is really close to the train station. All we had to do is walk across one main road and we were there. We located the bathroom first to change & rejuvenate ourselves before putting our luggage in the luggage storage next to the bathroom. It was fairly cheap (~$11) for 3 bags for a little under 6 hours. After storing our luggage, we headed out and ventured to the streets of Zurich. Unfortunately it was cold & rainy so we weren't able to walk around much/have great views, but we were able to visit Lindenhof, a farmers market where we got apples & yogurt for breakfast, and an LV store (unfortunately we didnt' buy anything because we didn't get a stamp in our passport marking us here so unable to get duty free). Afterwards, we still had time leftover but I didn't see much else to do online that was close/nearby so we went back into the train station and walked around (as there are many stores inside) and ended up eating at a smorgaburg-like food-truck event that was happening. Once we finished eating, my SIM card notified me that I had ran out of data (Simify 12GB for $26 should've lasted me the entire trip but I didn't realize how much instagram drains data nowadays) so i had to try and find an alternate sim. Unfortunately, the ones at the train station were really expensive and our train was about to come to go from Zurich to Interlaken so we just used the train station's wifi to download directions and then headed to our train. The train itself wasn't bad at all. No assigned seating so it was first come first serve. They also didn't check for our tickets (lots of trust here). Fortunately, me and my mom found seats next to each other so we watched some shows on the way (around a 2 hour train ride).

Once we arrived in Interlaken, it was a complete 180 in terms of views! The mountains were super close & we were definitely no longer in the city. We checked out other places we could get a SIM card before we checked into our airbnb (more like hostel). Unfortunately, the best deal was a 20gb for 20CHF at Sunrise and we could only use it in Switzerland. Regardless, it gave our mind some ease. We then checked into our airbnb. My mom changed while I was looking up things to do in the area since it was only 4pm and we had no other plans. We ended up just walking around the main road , grabbing dinner at Bebbi's 6-730p (not a fan but glad i tried it) and going from one end of interlaken to the other (train station west to east) before heading back to our airbnb 9pm. Very quaint town. Only takes about 25 minutes to walk from one end to another (your hostel/hotel will give you a bus ticket for free that you can use if you dont wish to walk!).

Overall, pretty chill day, mainly filled with traveling. Didn't plan much, although because of the rain, we couldn't do much anyway. Nevertheless, can't believe we made it to Switzerland!

I can't wait to share with you all the different countries we explored. It was truly one for the books! I hope you enjoyed Zurich! Stay tuned for more~

Definitely recommend traveling with just your parents at least once in your life. Makes you appreciate one and other & it's nice to enjoy each other's company when you're older!
