we've got it all covered.
First things first - let's talk about getting here using public transportation so that even solo travelers like me can embark on this adventure hassle-free.
I started my journey from Oslo. First, you have to reach to Stavanger either from Oslo or Bergen two main cities with airports. You can use the Entur website to give a detailed itinerary of the travel to Stavanger.
https://entur.no/
Note. Sometimes the transport cannot be booked directly through this website so it will direct you to Vy Express, Norway bussexpress websites for finalizing the booking
From Stavanger, I took the local bus line Kolumbus. It will take 40 minutes to use this connecting Bus ride from Stavanger to Jøssang with a change at Jorpeland. it's a fixed fare ride of 77 nok.

To buy tickets kolumbus uses a different app called 'Kolumbus billet'

Next up is finding a cozy place to rest after an exhilarating day of hiking. There are two main spots nearby to stay one is Preikestolen camping ( where camping spots cannot be booked in advance ) where I stayed or the hotels just at the start of the hike. Make sure to the check availability of the places next to the hike starting point.
Or you can stay in the Stavanger and drive to the starting point of the hike in the morning and park your vehicle there. The parking costs close to 200 nok.
Now comes the exciting part – exploring the famous hike itself! With insider tips and detailed trail information at hand, we'll navigate our way through stunning landscapes while marveling at towering cliffsides above Lysefjord. Trust me; every step will be worth it when we finally reach that mesmerizing viewpoint atop.
You can also use this GPS map to track the position more accurately.
