Wind Storm Camping in the MSR Tindheim 2 Tent With 40mph+ Gusts
In this video, I take the MSR Tindheim 2 tent for a wild camping test in some very windy conditions, with strong gusting winds over 40mph and driving rain throughout the night. We camped at just under 1,834ft and had to find some shelter in the lee of a wall as I did not want to risk damaging the new tent.
With some help from my son, we managed to get the tent pitched and secured using some ground anchors. The tent performed admirably, shrugging off the wind and flexing with the stronger gusts as designed. Throughout the night, there was torrential rain, driven by the winds which did not let up; the tent did not leak a drop. With plenty of room for two and a spacious porch to using for cooking and additional shelter, I was very impressed with the MSR Tindheim 2.
Our evening meal was burgers, cooked in the summit shelter and we were rewarded with spectacular views despite the very bad weather. As dusk fell, an eerie almost full moon rose as we listened to spooky tales about strange and supernatural sightings across the fells of the north west.
The winds did not lessen overnight, but the tent held firm. After a quick breakfast in the tent, we packed away ensuring no trace was left. Some fantastic memories made and a great first test for the MSR Tindheim 2 tent.
Thank you for watching and remember to always leave no trace.

Please ensure that someone knows where you're going and when you're expected back. Have the correct clothes and always pack an emergency blanket in case things go pear shaped. Expect the unexpected. Pitching a tent in strong winds requires practice - why not have a go in your garden or a park and build up to taking it onto higher ground.
