Recordbar Radio is for and by DJs, Artists and Musicians. It exists to provide a platform for Music On The Margins; giving space to the underground, the obscure, the alternative. We maintain our community-driven independence through volunteers, partners, and DJs. Their dedication and creativity allows us to produce an average of 16 performances per week. Local content from local creators on a local platform: this is our DNA.

The music we showcase ranges in style, age, format and location. It covers a wide range of tastes and perspectives and offers a great deal of variety. Be it Jazz, Funk, Soul, Boogie, Drum and Bass, Jungle, Dubstep, Deep House, Techno or Disco, it’s played on our platform and all the sounds in between are too. Some weeks you can expect Oldies, Alt Rock, Indie, New Wave, No Wave, Minimal Wave, Kraut, EBM, Cosmic and also Balearic. Tune in and see what’s poppin'.

This little project of ours would not be possible if it weren’t for those that came before us. It goes without saying that, the model we’ve adopted as our own to highlight and showcase DJs and artists in our own community, owes a huge amount of gratitude to folks like Boiler Room, NTS, Triple J, Worldwide FM, Dublab, Mixmag, Fact Mag, The Lot Radio, and others whose trailblazing work paved the way for so many small community projects to exist and provide a platform for their local scenes.
-----------
In Phoenix, we also have to thank our own trailblazers who helped us not so long ago in another form of our existence. We wouldn’t be who we are without the inspiration from the Chupa, Batucada and Solstice crews. The Hot Pink, Faux Show and Sticky Fingers crews. Blunt Club and Red Monkey are must mentions as well. And of course, Rebel Disco, Push Push, Stellar Well, Peaks & Valleys and all the underground crews before and after - we thank you and we are inspired by you.
-----------
Some artists and DJs that have inspired us to stay put and work within our own community are mostly from the US and typically grind right in their own backyards to make where they stay a better place for underground music & culture. Artists like: Moodymann, Ron Trent, Lovefingers, Discwoman, Secret Circuit, Tim Sweeney, Mark Grusane, Darryn Jones, Eli Escobar, Ariel Zetina, Ash Lauryn, Peter Croce, The Twilite Tone, Tim Zawada, and many others have all opted to stay either where they are from or at least within the United States to build their communities and reputations. Shouts to all who choose this path, you inspire us.
-----------
We also must thank all of our Resident DJs who placed faith in us even when we didn't know what we were doing: Jules Quimby, Stoneypie, Davina, Jake B, TK Nicholson, Richard Carter, DJ Court, DJ Tony, Idiom, Dehga, Gilaman, Jesse Frank, Voiage, Twelve Inches, Aaron Lim, Richie, Snicklefritz, Jake Stellarwell, and Harry Layton - you believed early on and we could not have gotten started without you, props and love.
