It was a top-secret intelligence operation like no other. During WWII, captured German generals were imprisoned in plush surroundings, treated to fine meals accompanied by vintage wines, and encouraged to talk. And all the while, recording devices captured every word. So it was that the Allies got access to some of Hitler’s most closely guarded secrets—from those most entrusted to protect them. This week on History Happy Hour, host historians Chris Anderson and Rick Beyer talk to historian and author Helen Fry, author of "The Walls Have Ears: The Greatest Intelligence Operation of World War II." Bugging the German generals, Sunday at 4PM ET on History Happy Hour, the spot where history is always on tap.
