The history of the Fish Dock, home to one of Britain's largest fishing fleets during its heyday, and the story of the community whose bravery, skill and sacrifices made it so. This story covers the history of Hull's fishing fleet, from its earliest days fishing eels off the coast, through to the industrial trawlers that brought back holds full of fish from the frigid waters of the north Atlantic; the Russian outrage, where a rogue Russian flotilla caused havoc in the North Sea; the triple trawler tragedy of 1968 that led a group of courageous women to parliament to demand better safety standards; and the Cod Wars that, ultimately, led to the downfall of Hull's fishing industry.
