When the fifth Johan Sverdrup platform comes on stream late 2022 it will provide distribute power from shore to several fields in the Utsira High area on the NCS. This power will be received – and distributed – through the HVDC-module on the platform. This module was built by Navantia in Cadiz, Spain and will now be equipped by Aibel in Haugesund, Norway. In November the 4 100 tonne module arrived the Aibel yard on the BigLift Barentz.

Next year the three modules will be assembled to become one platform and in 2022 the platform will be installed on the field.
